Karen Burroughs, Chief of Staff

Karen serves as the FLAG team’s Chief of Staff. She has spent over 30 years with Cru, many of which were in Eastern Europe and Leadership Development and Human Resources. The vision of FLAG captured her attention, and she is eager to serve legal professionals as they impact society with truth and righteousness.

In her free time, you can find Karen in jail! She is heavily invested in personal ministry to the incarcerated in the local county jail. She is married to Pat and they have a son, daughter-in-law, and grandson. They also are blessed to have been foster parents and continue to enjoy the fruits of that investment.

David Westmoreland, Well-Being Coordinator

As FLAG's Well-Being Coordinator, David facilitates safe places for lawyers and law students facing personal and mental health issues to find hope and help through Christ. David identifies with the drive to succeed that so many have in the legal profession. He also appreciates the pressure and responsibility placed on lawyers as they serve their communities and judicial systems. He knows demands of the profession and personal issues are serious stressors to lawyers.

David graduated summa cum laude from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Master of Accounting. He worked in public accounting for two years before joining Cru. For nearly two decades, David helped start campus movements and coached student and volunteer leaders across several college campuses. David is married to Heidi, and they have two daughters.

Vonda Westmoreland, Communications Coordinator

Vonda is the Communications Coordinator for Faith & Law Around the Globe. Originally from Missouri, she has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Hannibal-LaGrange University in Hannibal, Missouri, and a Master of Arts in Strategic Communication and Leadership with honors from Maryville University in St. Louis. Vonda has worked in marketing positions with for-profit and nonprofit organizations, as a senior editor for an international newswire, and as the director of communications for a large congregation in Missouri. Her calling is to make ministry visible and accessible to the people it is intended to serve. Vonda and her husband John have two daughters.
